Settle into Self

I have been thinking about how beautiful it is when we turn our nurturing instincts inward. "It's ok sweetheart, everything is going to be ok; Let me make you something hot to drink; I will wipe your tears, shh, put your head down like this; Sleep, sweet girl". We have perfected this gentle way with loved ones, and indeed there comes a time when we can gather close to us that which brings us comfort, and take ourselves up in our own arms. Peonies, raspberry tea, and warm breezes that gently waive the curtains have reminded me of this today.

This is so true and we need constant reminding of this. One of the firt things I read with my first child was from Dr. Spock. The first sentence in his book was take care of yourself first, because if you don't you can't take care of anyone else.

Love that picture, the colors are stunning
