Sweetheart, I have been away. I sneaked out on vacation and left behind a mannequin in autopilot to pacify, to patronize, your sadness, worry and confusion. You were not crazy. I left.

I am here now darling.

Do you understand?

This leaves so many questions and so much understanding all bundled into a pile, almost like washing, waiting to be washed.

At first, when clicking on your site today, I was struck by the picture an the interesting perspective you gave us on it, then your words, again quite an interesting perspective!! I will definitely be pondering on this today.
"a mannequin in autopilot" hmmm, how often am I that, rather than truly being present for those around me? and is it not necessary sometimes for survival, like the ressurection fern?

When I saw the first word:
sweetheart...
I knew.
This breaks my heart. It scares me, it angers me, it haunts me.
It makes me want to scream! No I do not understand!!

Your writing is evocative.
The word sweetheart...it reminds me of you now, your blog, your writing...
And that picture is perfect!

Sometimes one can only be fully there for someone again if one takes some time for one's self to be absent... I understand this. Leaving a mannequin on autopilot behind is the thing that's equally brilliant and heartbreaking to me. The honesty of this really touches me.
