So sweet I can't stand it!!
I have such love for this dog that there doesn't seem to be enough room in my heart! She was actually a birthday gift for my husband. I picked her up and she almost hyperventilated with excitement and anxiety on the way to my parents' house, where she was hidden the days leading up to his birthday. On the first night she apparently jumped up on my parents' bed and plopped herself down on my Dad's butt. Seconds later she was snoring like an old man, so my Dad freed himself and made his way over to the couch.
Roxie adores my husband. All he has to do is put his hand out in front of her, almost as if he were commanding her to stop, and she will roll on her back exposing her belly to him. She will wait for him at the top of the stairs until he gets home, and will pretend to attack him when he enters the door. He calls her The Queen, and she kind of is.
She and I have a special bond. Dogs don't usually meet humans in the eye unless they are being dominant, but Roxie and I will just gaze at each other, smiling. It's a lovefest. She is my favorite little companion, never more than two steps behind me. She provides a silent commentary on my every move but offers up love no matter how I fare. How I cherish this dog......
